Do not miss this once in a lifetime adventure
An absolute “Must do” if you are visiting during the winter months. Watch the Disney Movie “Snow
Dogs”; it was filmed here in Canmore during 2001 and the star dogs that you see will be part of the team that will pull you on an unforgettable adventure. Well trained dogs and their leaders teach you all you need to know to experience first hand the joy of traveling ground level through powder snow the way the first Canadian travelers saw the snow bound lands.
Lonny & Fiona never miss a Sled ride on Boxing Day afternoon, it is fast becoming a family tradition.

Driving Distances from the Inn
| Calgary Airport | 90 minutes - beautiful drive |
| Canmore down town | 5 minutes drive time |
| Banff National Park Gates | 5 minutes |
| Banff down town | 15 minutes |
| Kananaskis Country | 20 minutes |
| Lake Louise | 45 minutes |
| Lake Moraine | 1 hour |
| Radium | 1 hour 30 minutes |
| Columbian Icefields | 1 hour 30 minutes |
| Jasper | 3 hours (see suggestion below concerning visiting Jasper) |
Jasper ~ To make a straight drive to Jasper Townsite would take 3 hours from Canmore to Jasper (no stopping). When I travelled the "Ice Fields Parkway road" to Jasper with my parents sightseeing it took us 6 hours as we included a stop at Peyto Lake, the Columbian Icefields and several other scenic spots to view spectacular waterfalls.
The beauty of this particular road is that there are so many nice spot to stop, to not do so would be a shame. We usually recommend that if you feel strongly about going the whole way to Jasper then you should arrange overnight accommodation in Jasper Town.
However a great day trip would be to drive from Canmore to the Columbian Icefields, stopping to take the snow coach onto the Athabasca Glacier and also to take a beautiful walk to Peyto Lake for a picnic. The driving time for this day trip would be 1.5 hours each way (plus stopping/sightseeing time).
Radium ~ Another beautiful drive would be to drive on 95 to Radium Hot Springs and take a swim in the mineral pools at Radium.
We hope this information helps with your planning and will be very happy to answer any questions you may have concerning the area or our inn.
